Biggest Loser, Episode 2, Mini Recap
Here it is, quick and dirty. A more substantial recap will be posted on Wednesday morning.
Both trainers warn their teams that Week 2 is notorious for small amounts of weight loss. Sometimes people even gain. They’re prepared for this and they will just plug on. Alyson Sweeney sets them up for an auction of sorts. The average weight loss in Week 2 is 2%. The contestants have the opportunity to bid, auction-style, on the percentage they think they will lose. If the high bidder attains their goal at the weigh-in, they will win $10,000, but if they lose they will automatically fall below the yellow line. Many teams decline, but in the end Coleen/Jerry bet they can lose 2.4 %. Jillian is pissed.
The orange team won a super-cool challenge that involved waterslides, earning a phone call home. Then Rocco showed up to teach the teams to cook nutritious, inexpensive dishes. The group judged Purple Teams Amy’s dish as the best, and she won a year’s worth of groceries for her effort.
At weigh in, we discover that Coleen and Jerry did not lose the necessary 14 pounds, and they fall below the yellow line, along with the Gray Team. After much deliberation, the group decides that LT (who gained this week) is a huge threat, and vote Gray to leave.
Alyson Sweeney also informs everyone that they will be taking a road trip to the Grand Canyon.
